Despite her busy lifestyle, Niki had a clear vision of her dream wedding and spent the time crafting this with Rohita Pabla Weddings and Events to ensure every aspect was taken care of. We recreated Niki’s Indian wedding dreams with a rustic outdoor feel, in the stunning surroundings of the historic, Cobham Hall in Kent…

The perfect concept execution takes time and attention to detail. Our wedding planning with Niki and Jack commenced over a year ago after she reached out to understand the capabilities of our Asian planning services. As you can see, we did not disappoint, and we brought our A-game when it came to the finer textures and tones to really fulfil Niki’s ideas.

The Process

Niki called Rohita Pabla Weddings and Events to enquire about our planning services for Asian weddings over a year before the wedding was due to take place. And, can you believe it, we missed the call…
We called the number straight back and we spoke for nearly an hour talking and ideating. From that day we started the planning together with endless late-night calls and laughter. We did this for over a year until the day finally arrived.
As a homeware designer herself, she knew exactly how she wanted her decor for the wedding to look and feel and it was our job to bring it to life.
We found and instructed the perfect suppliers for every aspect of the day including the décor and flowers, DJ and entertainment, printing suppliers, photographer and videographer, cake, cocktails and even a 360-video booth.

The Result:

We created a rustic outdoor feel, using the stunning view from the clear span of the marquee, of the historic house at Cobham Hall in Kent.
Niki & Jack’s head table was adorned with metal frames wrapped in deep floral tones with hints of light pinks and foliage .
An extravagant, unforgettable event that the bride, groom and their guests will dream about for years to come.

From my initial consultation with Rohna & Kelan, I knew they were going to be a fun couple. They were ready to create something unique for their spectacular wedding and we weren’t afraid to hold back on their vision for the day. As their bespoke Asian wedding planner, I knew just how to deliver their dream wedding…

Let’s walk through the wedding planning process:

The Brief

“A relaxed, resort style wedding. One where guests are left in awe with theatrical, never seen before elements! We want our venue to be unrecognisable from the beginning to end!”

I knew at this point that this wedding needed some meticulous planning and intricate detailing to bring it to life. Following many discussions over the 2 whole years we worked together, Rohna and Kelan trusted my advice and we pulled off a completely bespoke concept. Here’s how we did it…

The Wedding

After exciting consultations, we whittled down the key components that would really make this wedding stand out. We talked through everything from décor to running order and left no small detail unexplored.

Rohna and Kelan were keen to impress as they celebrated their day and were passionate about making their guests feel special. Here are a few of the unique touches we discussed to include throughout the day to give their Indian wedding a real luxury feel:

✨ A formal sit-down lunch for everyone, where guests could enjoy a stunning 3 course meal instead of the traditional buffet style service.

✨ A night club style reception where food & drinks were endless and centre of attention, taking the event to the next level.

Bringing a concept together isn’t just about the decor, it’s the additional details such as entertainment and creating unforgettable experiences the guests will dream about for years to come. Rohna and Kelan did just that.

Rohna & Kelan’s whole event concept was built around one single print, which was founded by RWS London. It was such an integral part of our design process and the look on their faces when we revealed this to them on the day was just priceless.

Chris & Anu’s Monochrome Black Tie Wedding at Leeds Castle in Kent

A wedding at a castle. It’s every girl’s dream, right? Or at least one they have had amongst their childhood thoughts after watching endless princess movies. But for Anu and Chris, this dream really came to life.

Once upon a time, in the illustrious grounds of a beautiful venue in Kent, Anu and Chris tied the knot at their Leeds Castle, Kent wedding. Their monochrome theme and black-tie attire was like a Pinterest mood board, brought to life…

And that is exactly what it was! Let’s explain…

Anu and Chris were over 5,000 miles away in California at the time of planning their luxury wedding, but as the chosen Asian wedding planner we weren’t going to let that stop us from organising their magical day.

Here’s how we did it:

We developed inspirational mood boards to get their vision locked down
Found swatches and samples of fabrics and décor to texturize the full experience
Spent 6 months wedding planning over Zoom and 1 face-to-face meeting
Dedicated ourselves to the extensive preparation of the phenomenal 4-day build for their one and only event in the UK

From the florist to the DJ, the caterer to the photographer, the wedding coordination of the entire day took meticulous planning and experienced event management. Their dramatic white and red floral bouquets displayed high upon tables and all throughout the venue, were a true reflection of the detail and effort poured into this day, from everyone involved.

Even the coconut shaved, six tiered wedding cake needed consideration given the inside heat and centre-piece location.

But, it seems fair to say that from the wonderful testimonial we received, this was a true wedding event success:

As an example, you may have a budget of £60,000 to plan your whole wedding. You may get a quote from a wedding planner to plan your wedding at £6000. You think to yourself, well that’s 10% of my overall budget that I could spend on the wedding itself if I plan it myself. Technically speaking your absolutely correct. However, having a wedding planner, you will tend to recoup a lot of the cost through the expertise and network that the wedding planner has built up.

What can a wedding planner do for you?

We are often asked by many clients around the benefits of a wedding planner and what can a wedding planner do for me?

In this article we will be discussing some key aspects and benefits of a wedding planner. We will be interviewing our very own Rohita Pabla around the key aspects where she believes her, and her team provide clients with the most benefit. We will be revealing some of the details of what Rohita and her team provide to their clients.

“Why do I need a Wedding Planner?”

Rohita: “We get many people asking us Why do I need a wedding planner. The answer to this is fairly subjective to individuals and their specific circumstances. Generally, most of our clients book us to help us plan their wedding as they are either in highly demanding jobs under immense pressure and have little time to spend on getting all the finite detail into their dream wedding or they have little or no experience in weddings and where to start. Our clients at Rohita Pabla Wedding & Events want their dream day to be planned to perfection including the minute detail so that them and their guests can enjoy their wedding day without thinking or stressing.

We also have many clients who have kickstarted there planning journeys and been in contact with venues and some wedding suppliers. They have then come to realise the amount of time and stress that the journey has begun to put on them.

As we also do events other than just weddings, several of our existing client base contact us for other events such as birthdays, anniversaries, Christmas parties etc. to provide our full event planning package for the same reasons as I mentioned prior.

“What can a Wedding Planner do that I can’t?”

Rohita: This is an interesting question and I could discuss this for hours. Technically speaking anyone can do wedding planning. However, with us specialising in weddings and events with approx. 20+ years of experience across the team within this industry we have seen it all. From the venue postponing an event a day before the big day to suppliers not delivering on the day. With the experience and a great network within the industry that we have built over the years, all our wedding planners & event managers ensure that every single wedding or event that we do is delivered to perfection.

All the stress and headache from planning anyone’s wedding is passed on to our team. I (Rohita) end up becoming the client’s best friend through this journey, with regular calls, emails, texts throughout the planning.

For every wedding or event that we deliver, we will have multiple plans to ensure that any mishaps and dealt with without guests even noticing. We work in the background to ensure that the clients and their guests get the best and seamless wedding or event.

“Can a Wedding Planner Save you money?”

Rohita: Simply, Yes!

As I mentioned earlier, the network and experience that we have within the wedding & events industry provides us with a better understanding of costs of weddings and events. As part of our business we do regular analysis of costs across the board when planning weddings and events.

We have saved clients on average 10% on their budgets, through our power of negotiation and faultless planning of client’s budgets.The cost of having us planning a client’s wedding or event, we would re-coup most of that cost through the savings we make through the planning journey.

Real Flower’s vs Artificial Flowers?

So after last weeks blog about “Help… What flowers should I pick for my wedding?” I’ve received many questions regarding flowers and whether you should pick real over artificial flowers. Obviously it’s down to personal choice, but nowdays its also down too the budget and not forgetting this is being stretched at every point possible.

So we’ve put together a helpful Pros and Cons list for you below! This should also help alongside our previous blog where we added in a helpful handy flower chart by season.

Pros- Real Flowers

Wider choice- As long as your chosen flowers are in season you have a wider colour choice as sometimes in silk artificial flowers different colours can look too artificial.

Smell- That beautiful smell of flowers when you walk into a room… you can’t beat it!

Dream- It might have always been your dream to have fresh flowers… if so hell with the budget and do it! Your only going to get married once… right?

Colour- Colours are endless and can be mixed and match (have a read of the previous blog to see how colours can be mixed)

Cons-Real Flowers

Expense- Real flowers can be expense normally double the cost of silk flowers

Season- Your chosen flowers may not be in season when you plan to have your big day

Never forever- Real flowers are never forever, they will die after your event and also depending on when and where your wedding is taking place you need to maintain them

Hayfever/allergies sufferers- This could be a nightmare event for them!

Pros- Artificial Flowers

Season- It doesn’t matter if your preferred flowers aren’t in season

Cost- If budget is an issue using artificial silk flowers can help maybe half your flower bill

Forever- If you are buying them yourself you can keep them forever

Silk flowers do not require constant watering on a hot summer’s day where real ones would threaten to wilt; and if you’re planning on marrying overseas, artificial flowers are all but weightless for those pesky luggage restrictions!

Cost Effective- You can re use them for another event which you may have on the day or day after

Hayfever/allergies sufferers- This is the perfect way to still have your flowers but not upset any guests

Colours- The artificial flowers can vary in different colour tones

Budget- Your wedding budget may be an issue, however do not buy cheap artificial flowers you will regret it, there are different levels of silk, so shop around

Fray- If they are cheap they can fray if they are moved around alot

Smell- That beautiful floral smell will be absent at your wedding

Help… What flowers should I pick for my wedding?

Hello Brides To Be,

So it’s Chelsea Flower Show 2017, so what a perfect time to see the beautiful flowers the world has to offer for your big day. Held in the grounds of Royal Hospital Chelsea in Chelsea, London since 1912. It is known as one of the most famous landscape and flower garden shows in the UK and also in the world, attracting the public and famous celebrities from near and far.

Many brides have the dilemma of which flowers to pick for their big day and many are attracted towards traditional roses in either white or red. Now many people are starting to look at what else is out there as they want their weddings to be different, unique or just that one wedding that stands out.

Making the nervous step’s towards something different can be abit scary, especially as people don’t tend to see the mix of different colours at an Indian Wedding, but many more people are breaking the mould.

Fortnum and Mason

Hello Brides To Be,

So recently a Bride and Groom asked me to look for a small venue in central London for there civil & wedding breakfast and I stumbled across this little treasure… Fortnum and Mason est 1707. Fortnum and Mason known for it’s afternoon teas, hampers and fine gifts is also a beautiful small wedding venue with multiple rooms on offer.

And I got the opportunity to see this for myself. Fortnum and Mason opened its doors for a Westminster Council Wedding Open Day, offering brides, grooms & clients the opportunity to see the venue and what is has to offer. And oh was a wooowed…. from the Boardroom, The Tasting Room, The Drawing Room & The Crypt.
